Terms of use

Plain English, because a pre-release test played by a few dozen people doesn't need six pages of boilerplate.

What this is

Above Black is an unfinished game, offered free, for testing. It will change, it will break, and it may be taken down without notice. Nothing here is a commercial product and nothing is for sale.

Your account

• You don't need an account to play. If you do sign in, you must be old enough to have a Google account in your country (13+ in most places).
• One person per account. Do not share it.
• We can suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to harass anyone. We'd much rather just email you.

What you can do with it

Play it, screenshot it, stream it, and tell people what you thought — including the parts you disliked. If you're under an agreement with us that says otherwise, that agreement wins.

What you can't

• Don't redistribute the build itself, or host a copy of it.
• Don't attack the service, try to reach other players' data, or automate traffic against it.
• Don't use the art, characters, writing or names in your own project. They are ours or, in the case of real people, theirs.

Feedback

If you send us feedback we can use it to make the game, without owing you anything for it. You keep the right to say the same things elsewhere.

Real people

Some characters share a name and likeness with real people who appear with their permission, or who are being asked before this ships more widely. Their dialogue is written for the game and is not a statement by them. If you're one of them and want something changed, tell us through the form at Adjacent Interactive and we'll change it.

No warranty, and the boring bit

The game is provided "as is", with no warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits a right you have that cannot be limited.

Deleting your data doesn't need us: sign in and use the buttons on your account page to delete your account or delete everything. For anything else, tell us through the form at Adjacent Interactive.
